I'll start out with a thanks to dad and dennis for putting the love of machinery in my head! Remember Den when we were younger and worked a couple of projects out in the driveway.. well I couldn't stop and kept building. My first project car was a 67 SS Chevelle that was a piece, no glass and rust everywhere. I sold that one to a real restorer who I'm told is still putting it together. Next came the two stock cars I helped Dana build. They were dirt 1/2 mile cars that we ran at Perris Speedway. They were based on 78 camaro's. Then came the 70 Chevelle, Cheryl found me this one from an employee of her's. His dad had it and needed to sale, it ran but man it was in trouble. I took the engine and tran's out and traded those for a paint job on the old house. Then Ryan and I started building the new engine... Big Fat Rat! 402ci 525hp 2 speed power glide with the trans brake! man makes me itch to go fast just writing about it. It's taken 2 years to get it to this point and it's pretty much done. While building this one Dana and I moved from the dirt to asphalt on the 1/2 mile at Irwindale Speedway racing super trucks. These are also based on a camaro frame but with fiberglass bodies. So the speed itch is still in me, and it's been alot of fun. So here's to keeping the loud pedal to the floor and eyes peeled for the smokies.
